In 2010, Brian Nelson volunteered to serve with a team in Togo, Africa opening water wells as a way to share the gospel. It was on this trip that he and a few others discovered a local woman taking care of a household of orphans independently. From that experience, Togo Mission came to life, including the development of a team that proceeded to build and fund an orphanage that has graduated over 40 children, with 50 currently living there. All of their needs are met at the orphanage - food, medicine, schooling - and most importantly, being taught the love of Jesus Christ. Togo Mission is faithful in sending multiple people there annually who have a passion to serve children and local villages, using their gifts and knowledge in areas ranging from medicine to farming techniques.
As the older children graduate and age out of the orphanage they receive leadership classes, job training, and/or enroll in post-secondary education.
This particular trip will be the first chance parents have to bring their children along to experience another side of life. This trip will consist of visiting two orphanages where we will be meeting medical and farming needs along with visiting a church project currently under construction, funded by Mayhem Mission. In the evenings we will be visiting and discipling a group of young adults who have graduated from the orphanage. If you are looking to change your life while changing an orphan's life then this is your trip!
