How It Started
Mayhem Mission began in 2020 when Rich Froning and Brian Nelson decided to join forces to use CrossFit Mayhem’s platform as a vehicle to serve others. Both Rich and Brian, as well as Mayhem, had already been participating in overseas missions as well as local fundraisers and service projects. Brian had been investing in overseas missions, including supporting an orphanage in Togo, Africa, since 2010. Around that time, Rich started his annual "Mayhem for Mustard Seed" fundraiser for Mustard Seed Ranch, a local safe haven for at-risk youth in Cookeville, TN. When Rich and Brian connected years later, they saw additional opportunities to use Mayhem's platform to serve and make a difference.
In their establishment of Mayhem Mission, they solidified and organized their efforts around four pillars:
- Human Trafficking
- Clean Water
- Unreached People Groups
- At-Risk Youth
The primary goal of Mayhem Mission is to leverage our fitness platform to challenge individuals and communities to make a difference by sacrificing to serve people in the most destitute areas of our world, for the glory of God and good of others.
